Throughout the day, children could pet calves and lambs and see the sheep and cattle. EKU students taught the visitors about the many different animals throughout the farm. They also learned about different types of plants and even got to make small grass heads that would grow “hair”.
Farm tours took students on a ride to the farrowing barn where the pigs are housed, to the dairy operations, the sheep barn, and where the calves are housed.
A highlight of the day is always making their own ice cream using milk from the farm. The students had a wonderful time and it is always fun being able to share with students everything that goes into a farm.
